Hakuba Norikura Onsen spreads over the slopes below Cortina at the northern edge of the valley, and the two areas link on the mountain. The wide Wakaguri and Satomi slopes at the bottom are gentle and uncrowded, and the onsen at the base is part of the name.
Above them the Expert, Snake and Highway courses get steep fast, and Norikura leaves some of its slopes ungroomed for powder days. The No. 11 pair lift at the top serves the backcountry, so you have to file a mountaineering report or sign a disclaimer before you ride it.
From 2026/27 Norikura and Cortina sell a single joint ticket at ¥6,500 a day. Norikura plans to open on 12 December and keeps the Wakaguri area running until 4 April.
Worth knowing
- Fill in the No. 11 Pair Lift form online before you arrive if you plan to tour.
- Free parking by the Wakaguri area holds 1,000 cars and stays open around the clock.
- Late March means Wakaguri only, so plan spring days elsewhere if you want the upper lifts.
