Adults are 13 and over; children aged 6 to 12 pay ¥6,400 for one day. Under-sixes ride free (under-threes at Jigatake and Kashimayari). The pass works at all ten resorts, at several in one day, and includes the Hakuba Valley shuttle on days you ride. It is not valid for night riding or the night bus. Hakuba Valley expected 2026/27 sales to open around November through its official webshop.
Get between them
The Hakuba Valley shuttle links all ten resorts, with Line V running the length of the valley and shorter lines feeding each resort. In 2025/26 a ride cost ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for children, paid online only, and holders of a Hakuba Valley day or season pass rode free; the first shuttle ride counts as a day on the pass. The VN night bus cost ¥500 and took cash. Buses fill up after snowfall and on the last runs of the afternoon, and full buses do not stop.
The valley runs about north to south under the Northern Alps, with Jigatake and Kashimayari above Omachi in the south, Goryu, Hakuba47, Happo-one and Iwatake around Hakuba village in the middle, and Tsugaike, Norikura and Cortina in Otari village to the north. Each resort keeps its own operator, and the Hakuba Valley Promotion Board ties them together with the All-Mountain pass and the valley shuttle. All ten use the same boundary signs.
Epic Pass holders get five consecutive days at all ten resorts for 2026/27, with no blackout dates. You collect a Hakuba Valley card at a designated ticket window with photo ID, and it also rides the shuttle free.
Crowds gather at Happo and Goryu. The quieter resorts at either end of the valley hold just as much snow on a storm day, and the shuttle reaches all of them.
Worth knowing
- Plan around the wind. When Happo's upper lifts close, the pass and the shuttle let you move to another resort without buying a new ticket.
- Only five resorts have designated backcountry gates: Goryu, Happo-one, Tsugaike, Norikura and Cortina. Leaving the ski area anywhere else is prohibited.
- Submit a mountain-climbing registration before you buy a ticket if you plan to use a gate.
- Check the Japan Avalanche Network's Hakuba bulletin each morning; Hakuba Valley advises inexperienced riders to stay inside the boundaries once the danger reaches level 3.
