Epic Pass
Multi resort2026/27
The Epic Pass suits a skier whose Japan trip centres on Hakuba, with five consecutive days across all ten Hakuba Valley resorts on one free ticket. The days run back to back from the first scan, so a storm day or a rest day still uses one.
Season 2026/27
What it costs
At each resort: Hakuba Valley: 5 consecutive days on one free all-mountain ticket covering all ten resorts, no blackouts. Rusutsu: 5 consecutive days..
Hakuba lists no blackout dates for the 2026/27 Epic benefit, and Epic's partner page says the Hakuba days carry no restricted peak dates.
It includes
- One free Hakuba Valley consecutive 5-day ticket opens all ten Hakuba Valley resorts, and you can ride more than one in a day.
- The ticket covers daytime rides on the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus while it is valid.
- The RFID card needs no deposit.
- Five consecutive days at Rusutsu in Hokkaido come with the pass, and Ride Hokkaido covers that resort.
It leaves out
- Night skiing and the night shuttle bus in Hakuba are outside the ticket.
- The Epic Day Pass and the Military Epic Pass get no days in Japan.
- Epic Mix, buddy tickets, Ski With A Friend tickets and Epic discounts on lessons, rentals, dining and lodging don't apply in Hakuba.
- Hakuba won't sell an Epic holder discounted lift tickets once the free ticket is used.
- Vail sells the pass in US dollars and publishes no yen price.

Beyond this guide it also covers Rusutsu (Hokkaido, covered by Ride Hokkaido).
Epic covers two places in Japan for 2026/27: Hakuba Valley's ten resorts, and Rusutsu in Hokkaido, which our sister guide Ride Hokkaido covers. At Hakuba you show your Epic Pass and photo ID at a ticket window and leave with a free Hakuba Valley consecutive 5-day ticket on an RFID card. Staff accept the My Epic app's mobile pass as proof at the window.
The five days start with your first lift ride or your first ride on the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus, whichever comes first. From there they run on consecutive days. The ticket opens every Hakuba Valley resort, so a morning at Happo-one and an afternoon at Tsugaike count as one day. Night skiing and the night shuttle sit outside it.
Hakuba accepts the 2026-27 Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Lifetime Pass and Epic Adaptive Pass. The 2026 Epic Australia Pass and its adaptive version also work for this Hakuba winter. Children aged 5 and under can't get the 5-day ticket, and they collect a free one-day ticket at the window on each day they ski.
Hakuba Valley's own 5-day all-mountain ticket costs ¥53,400 for an adult this winter, which is the nearest window price to the Epic benefit. The Epic ticket's days run back to back, so pick the start day with the forecast in hand.
Worth knowing
- Start your five days on a morning you plan to ride, since a shuttle ride on a rest day starts the count.
- Keep the RFID card in your left jacket pocket, where most Hakuba gates read it. At Jigatake you swap it for a local ticket at the ticket centre first.
- The lift gates in Hakuba don't read the mobile pass in the My Epic app.
- Rusutsu's five days also run consecutively, so leave a travel day between Hakuba and Hokkaido when you plan both.
