From Tokyo Station
- Bus
- Alpico's Nagano–Hakuba express stops at Goryu Escal Plaza on the way into the valley. Direct buses from Shinjuku reach the Hakuba Goryu stop in about five hours.
- Train
- Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagano, about 1 hr 40 min, then the local bus to Hakuba Goryu, about 1 hr, and the free Goryu47 shuttle to the Hakuba47 base. Hakuba Valley puts the fastest door-to-door time at 2 hr 50 min.
One daily Azusa limited express runs direct from Shinjuku to Hakuba Station in about four hours.
The nearest station is Kamishiro. JR Oito Line; Hakuba Station is one stop north.
The free Goryu47 shuttle and the Hakuba Valley shuttle (Lines V, F and L) both stop at the Hakuba47 base.
Hakuba47 sits just north of Goryu, and the gondola from its base climbs to the same ridge. The two resorts link at the top, so most visitors ride them as one area on the shared Goryu47 ticket and use the free Triangle Bus at the bottom.
The park is the reason people come. 47 PARKS runs a halfpipe and a line of kickers that grows from small to about 20 m, with rails and boxes between them. Japan Park School teaches from the base of it, so a newer rider can learn the basics right beside the big jumps.
The Tree Riding Zone covers steep, unpatrolled trees that only armband holders may enter. Membership takes a safety video and a signed waiver, and the ¥500 armband lasts from year to year. The resort closed the zone early in 2025/26 because the snow was poor, so check its status before you plan around it.
Hakuba47 runs no night session, and its own backcountry access is closed. Riders heading for the peaks walk out from above Jizo's Head after filing a climbing registration.
Worth knowing
- Keep your Tree Riding Zone armband from last season; you do not have to pay for it again.
- Registration for the Tree Riding Zone runs at Restaurant Alice from 9:00 to 10:00, and you need ¥500 in cash.
- The shared Goryu47 ticket and the Hakuba Valley pass both work here, so pick whichever covers the other resorts you plan to ride.
