Hakata S.C. Park suits riders who want a salt soft serve and a bowl of Hakata salt ramen beside a beach, and its trade-off is a restaurant that takes last orders at 14:00.
What to order
- Hakata salt soft serve
- Hakata no shio ramen, ¥800
The Marine Oasis Hakata building stands a few steps from Hakata Beach with the Hakata-Oshima Bridge in view, and Shimanami Japan's English guide calls it the place for a salted vanilla soft serve by the water. The restaurant builds its menu on Hakata salt. Plain shio ramen costs ¥800, and a version topped with Oshima lemon and Imabari jakoten fish cake costs ¥850. Imabari's yakibuta tamago meshi, roast pork and fried egg over rice, costs ¥880.
Groups of five or more can book a tai-meshi set for ¥1,850, while the everyday menu cannot be reserved. The shop sells Hakata salt in several grain sizes alongside Ehime citrus juices. Free showers serve the beach, two minutes away on foot.
From 12 January to 14 March 2027 the station closes on Tuesdays, except 23 February, a holiday when it opens and closes on the Wednesday instead. The shop and food court keep 10:00 to 16:00 that season, and New Year's Day is closed.
Worth knowing
- Come before 14:00 if you want ramen; the food court stays open later for snacks and soft serve.
