What to order
- Hakata no shio ramen
The owner was born in 1958 beside Hakatajima's salt fields and created his Hakata no Shio Ramen in the autumn of 1998 to put the taste of the Seto Inland Sea into a bowl. The tourism association describes a light salt broth scented with iwa-nori rock seaweed, at about ¥800 a bowl. The island shop moved to its present building in Kiura in May 2015 and seats 39.
