Tatara Shimanami Park suits every rider crossing Omishima as the biggest rest stop on the route, and its trade-off is a restaurant that stops taking orders at 15:00, earlier on winter weekdays.

Shimanami Japan calls this the largest rest area on the Shimanami Kaido, with seaside terrace seating facing the Tatara Bridge and a rental cycle terminal on site. The Cyclist Sanctuary monument here has become a favourite photo stop.
The restaurant cooks Setouchi fish and Ehime Amatoro pork. A tai-meshi set with chilled udon or soba costs ¥1,100 and the Kurushima set meal ¥2,200, and grouper dishes appear in limited numbers. The shop stocks more than 1,600 local products. Out front, the Kamiura Fureai Yataichi farm stand sells island vegetables and citrus from 9:00 to 16:00, with Beni Madonna and Harehime mandarins in December.
From 12 January to 14 March 2027 the park closes on Thursdays, except 11 February, a holiday when it opens and closes on 9 February instead. It also closes on 5 January 2027. The shop and food court keep 10:00 to 16:00 that season, and the restaurant takes last orders at 14:00 on weekdays.
