Who should base here
Stay in Seki Onsen when the Seki Onsen lifts are the plan and you want to sleep beside them after a red-brown bath.
Seki Onsen is a handful of inns on the road above Akakura, set apart from the rest of Myoko Kogen. Its water runs red-brown, one of the three colours Myoko's onsen villages are known for, and Nakamuraya Ryokan advertises the red water in its open-air bath.
The Seki Onsen ski area beside the hamlet has only two lifts and draws a following among powder skiers. Tsubame Onsen sits higher up the mountain with milky-white water.
