Ryokan Sawaki

Sawaki has 15 tatami rooms on the approach to Oyamazumi Shrine in Miyaura, and the family runs it as a cooking inn. Dinner follows the morning catch, so expect sea bream, a boat-shaped sashimi platter or fish baked on a clay plate. Meals come in private dining rooms. Older children can eat the adult menu at a discount.
The inn asked riders online what they wanted, then fitted the place out to match. You roll the bike through the front door into an indoor storeroom stocked with a gauge pump and a tool kit. The washer is free and the dryer costs ¥100. Geta wait at the door so you can walk the old street without cleats.
For a soak, the inn runs guests to Mare Grazia Omishima, a seawater spa whose open-air bath faces the sunset. Mare Grazia closes on Wednesdays and on the first Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of February. Plan winter nights around that.
