Suginosawa suits families who want to sleep at the foot of Myoko Suginohara and its long run, and its trade-off is a farming village with almost nowhere to eat at night.

Eat in Suginosawa
Suginosawa is the old farming village below Myoko Suginohara, the resort with the longest run in Myoko Kogen at about 8.5 kilometres. Lodges and pensions line the lanes up to the lifts, and the village bath Naena-no-yu sits in the middle.
There is almost nowhere to eat out in the evening, so book a plan with dinner. Two Pines bakes pizza in the village in winter, and Red Fox Lodge runs The Den. Inns such as Tabataya grow their own rice.
In the 2025/26 season the Mt. Myoko shuttle ran from Suginohara to Akakura through Ikenotaira for ¥1,000 a ride. Several lodges also run their own first-lift and station runs.
