Beyond the ropes · Through gates
Shizukuishi lets riders leave the area only through its gates, after filing a mountain plan with the patrol office. Everything past the gates is unpatrolled.
- Leave the ski area only through a gate. Anyone who exits elsewhere may have to hand back their ticket.
- File a mountain plan with the patrol office before you ride the lifts out of the area.
- Filing a plan puts no duty on the resort to search for you. The party that needs rescue pays every cost of the search and rescue.
- Carry a beacon, a shovel and a probe in the ungroomed areas, and keep away from tree wells near the boundary.
