Getting there
Benifuji no Yu stands in the forest beside Lake Yamanaka.
Benifuji no Yu takes its name from beni-fuji, the red Fuji of winter that its own page names as the season's view. Its cypress and stone open-air tubs face the mountain across the trees, the operator says every tub has a Fuji view, and the indoor bath has a wall of glass on the Fuji side. The spring is unusually alkaline at pH 10.3 and feels smooth on the skin.
The bath closed for renovation on 28 September 2026 and plans to reopen in March 2027. In the meantime the same operator runs Ishiwari no Yu on the other side of the lake, also at ¥900. Check the reopening date on the bath's news page before a spring ride.
Worth knowing
- Use Ishiwari no Yu, run by the same operator, until Benifuji reopens.
