Ishiwari no Yu sits at the foot of Mt. Ishiwari in Hirano, at the east end of Lake Yamanaka.
Ishiwari no Yu sits at the east end of Lake Yamanaka, under the trail up Mt. Ishiwari. The building is a timber dome of local chestnut and cypress, with indoor baths, a sleeping bath, a lukewarm source tub, a sauna and rock and cypress open-air tubs. The spring runs at pH 10.2, as alkaline as its sister bath Benifuji no Yu.
With Benifuji closed for renovation until March 2027, Ishiwari carries the lake's day bathing through the winter. Entry costs ¥900, and it closes on Thursdays.
