Know before you bathe
This is a neighbourhood bath, so greet the regulars and keep the tub clean.
Getting there
A 15-minute walk from JR Ito station, with parking for 11 cars.
Wada Jurojin no Yu is the oldest of Ito's Shichifukujin no Yu, the seven public baths named for the seven lucky gods. The Ito tourism page says water from this spring went to the third Tokugawa shogun, Iemitsu, in the Edo period. Today it is a plain local bathhouse where ¥400 buys a soak.
Hours moved to 14:00 to 22:00 from 4 January 2025, and it closes on Wednesdays. That timing suits the end of a ride on the coast, when you want to wash off before dinner in town.
Worth knowing
- Bring coins and your own towel, since neighbourhood baths in Ito sell little at the door.
