Sennenmatsu stands alone in a cove at Nagoma on Oshima, inside the Seto Inland Sea National Park, with the Kurushima Strait in front and Tateyama behind. Local fishermen bring in their catch most days, and the kaiseki follows whatever arrives. The cooks keep knife work to a minimum so the fish speaks for itself. Conger eel sashimi and conger shabu-shabu are the dishes regulars ask for.
The inn also cooks a seasonal vegan and vegetarian kaiseki, which is rare on the islands. It keeps a calendar of closing days, though it takes guests on the night before one. Imabari's tourism association lists a lockable space for about 15 bikes. Marine activities and day camping run from the beach in summer.
