Cyclo no Ie
¥3,200 a night
A local cycle-touring guide set up Cyclo no Ie by the east exit of JR Imabari Station, and the house runs around bike trips. Bikes sleep in a locked indoor garage with racks, so a bike without a kickstand is fine. The maintenance room has proper tools and a pump. Travel diaries and maps fill the lounge, which doubles as a café bar in the evening.
Every bed is a bunk, and the three showers, toilets and sinks are shared. Towels rent for ¥100, and the house expects you to bring pyjamas and a toothbrush. Check-in runs 16:00 to 21:00 and lights go out at 23:00. On nights without bookings the house may close, which matters in the quiet winter months, so book before you turn up.
Non-guests can store a bike or a bag for ¥500 a day and shower for ¥400. That makes it a useful drop point if you finish the Shimanami in Imabari and catch an evening train. Old neighbourhood bathhouses and a late-opening onsen with a big sauna are within walking distance.
