Getting there

In Shimo-Yuzawa, about 20 minutes' walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station or 10 minutes by car from the Yuzawa interchange. Twenty-five parking spaces.

The tub here takes about fifteen people and the washing stations have partitions between them, which makes it roomier than Yama no Yu. The rest room has a corner about Kawabata Yasunari's Snow Country and the woman the town believes inspired Komako.

Entry is ¥850 with the bathing tax. Opening hours run 10:00 to 21:00, and on Thursday 26 November 2026 the bath opens on its usual day off to cover for Iwa no Yu.

Worth knowing
