Hakone Yuryo

Hakone Yuryo sits in the woods above Hakone-Yumoto, three minutes by free shuttle from the station. The large bath building, Honden Yurakuan Oyu, holds the shared tubs and a sauna with loyly sessions, and the private open-air rooms of Hanare Yuya Kaden sit apart from it. The water comes from Tonosawa, one of Hakone's seven old springs.

Adults pay ¥1,700 to ¥2,200 depending on the day, and towels cost extra. The private rooms suit riders with tattoos, since the large baths only take tattoos covered by the bath's sticker. For a ride over the Hakone pass on Route 1, Yumoto is the downhill finish and the Odakyu train home leaves from the same station.
