Michi-no-Eki Hota Shogakko

This roadside station took over Hota primary school in Kyonan, and the old classrooms now hold restaurants, a bakery and a market. Hota Shokudo serves fishermen's food from the local harbour, and the namero bukkake don piles four kinds of local fish and namero on rice with dashi to pour over at the end. The golden horse mackerel fry is the other order.

The station rents cross bikes and folding e-bikes for ¥3,000 a day from 9:30 to 16:00, booked by phone by 15:00 the day before. In October 2026, typhoon damage had closed Route 127 between Kanaya and Hota, so riders coming down the coast from the ferry at Kanaya need another way in. The approach from Tateyama had no closures.
