Biwa Club suits riders on the Tokyo Bay side of Boso who want a café stop built around Tomiura's loquats, and its trade-off is that the fresh fruit is only on the trees in May and June.
What to order
- Loquat soft-serve
- Loquat curry
Tomiura grows loquats good enough to send to the imperial household, and this roadside station fills its shelves with them. The café terrace serves loquat soft-serve, loquat curry and pasta with coffee dripped to order. The station won the top prize in the national roadside station awards in 2000.
Fresh loquats come in May and June, when you can pick them on the trees. Strawberry picking runs from January to Golden Week, with bookings from 1 December.
Worth knowing
- Order the loquat soft-serve on the terrace.
