Tateyama

Tateyama curls round a sheltered bay at the southern end of Boso, and the coast road leaves town for the Flower Line along Heisaura beach and on to Nojimasaki. The tourism association runs its rental desk at the west exit of Tateyama Station with more than 50 bikes. Carbon road bikes cost ¥5,000 a day and the e-assist cross bikes ¥4,000, so you can step off the train and ride.

Lunch in Tateyama means the aburi kaisendon. Local restaurants agreed on this lightly seared seafood bowl as the town's premium dish, and you book it by 10:00 the day before. Umi no Hana serves it one minute from the station's west exit, and Hana Sohonten serves it five minutes from the east exit.

Typhoon No. 25 hit Chiba in late September 2026. JR restarted trains between Kisarazu and Awa-Kamogawa on 26 September at about half the usual service, and the line north of Kisarazu needs a replacement bus between Nagaura and Anegasaki. The tourism association warns that the trip from Tateyama to Chiba Station takes three changes and that road traffic makes the arrival time hard to predict.
