Ikenotaira suits families who want a quiet onsen village in the middle of Myoko Kogen with a gentle ski area, and its trade-off is a thin choice of evening restaurants.

Ikenotaira spreads through the larch woods in the middle of Myoko Kogen at about 800 metres, between Akakura and Suginosawa. Its onsen comes from Minami-Jigokudani on Mt. Myoko and runs black and cloudy with volcanic mud.
The Ikenotaira Onsen Alpen Blick ski area calls its open slopes among the widest in Japan, and a day ticket costs ¥7,400 for 2026/27. Imori Pond sits at the bottom of the village, and on a still spring morning Mt. Myoko shows in the water.
Evenings here mean the inn dinner or the brewery buffet at Tatra-kan. LIME RESORT MYOKO and Hotel Alpen Blick are the two big houses, and family lodges such as Kokuha fill the lanes between them.
