Things to do in Choshi
MLIT lists the Pacific Cycling Road as 1,487 km from Choshi Station in Chiba to Kada port in Wakayama, so the whole route starts on this station forecourt. Choshi fills the cape where the Tone River meets the Pacific, and Inubosaki Lighthouse stands on the eastern point. The lighthouse dates from 1874 and you can climb it for ¥300.
The tourism association handed its station rentals to the COGICOGI share-cycle system on 11 July 2026. Bikes stand at a port 30 m to the left as you leave the ticket gates, and you can drop one at the Inubosaki hotels, Choshi Grand Hotel or Choshi Electric Railway's Inubo Station at any hour. Payment is by credit card only, and the system takes no bookings.
The NPO Choshi Sports Community publishes model rides from Tokyo along the Tone River and a loop of the cape past the wind turbines. The tourism association posted a closure notice for Inubo Terrace Terrace on 8 October 2026, so check before you plan a stop there.
