Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku
Osenkaku has 43 rooms over three buildings: a three-storey wooden main building from 1955, a two-storey wooden annex from 1936 and a five-storey concrete east wing from 1966. The wooden rooms have floor heating, and only some east-wing rooms have a bath of their own. Staying lets you use the outdoor pools after the day visitors go home at 16:30, and the indoor baths, Tono-yu and Hime-yu, stay open 24 hours.
The pools are the reason to come, and they are described on Takaragawa Onsen's own page here. In winter the inn's courtesy bus runs on a slightly earlier morning schedule, so check times when you book it.
