Naraya
Naraya stands by the Yubatake and pipes the Shirahata source, which tradition says Minamoto no Yoritomo found and bathed in on 3 August 1193. The family began as yumori, the keepers of the spring, given the post by the local lord in the Edo period. The water rises at 55–56 °C, so the inn lets it rest overnight in its bath house until it reaches 46–47 °C and then stirs it by hand before it fills the tubs. It flows through around the clock.
The bus terminal is five minutes' walk away. Rooms come in two grades, the Senyutei superior rooms and the standard rooms, and check-out can be pushed to 12:00 for ¥5,000 a room.
