Kiriya Ryokan
The same family has run Kiriya for five generations. Its baths run on raw source water at 100 percent kakenagashi, which means the simple sulphur spring flows straight through untreated. Guests can also use an indoor bath privately at any time of the stay.
The inn is about three minutes' walk from the Yu-Road moving walkway that climbs to the Hikage slopes, so you can walk to the lifts in boots. From April to mid-December the inn usually closes on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and in peak winter weeks it asks guests to phone 0269-85-2020.
