The former Hotel Appi Grand spreads across a main building and a tower, with 403 rooms in 22 types that run from standard twins to Japanese-style maisonettes for families. The resort sells it as ski-in, ski-out, and every guests-only bus from Morioka Station and Iwate Hanamaki Airport starts and ends at its door. Dinner can be the seafood buffet with all-you-can-eat crab, Sushi Nagata, Teppanyaki Kazan or the yakiniku room Richoen. All of them take dinner by reservation.
The hotel's own onsen bath and sauna on the main building's first floor open from 5:30 to 10:00 and again from 12:00 to midnight. Most plans include entry to Shirakaba no Yu next door, a separate onsen with a big open-air bath among the trees and a sauna that holds 50, open 13:00 to 22:00. An indoor pool and a kids' corner fill a stormy afternoon.
