Pets ride in a carrier no bigger than 40 cm wide and 80 cm high. The Fuji Rock Forest boardwalk near the Schnee day centre takes wheelchairs.
The eight-seat cabins ride 5.5 km to a top station at 1,346 m. Prince Hotels bills a day here as two Japanese records in one, and the Tashiro Ropeway claims the greatest height above the ground. One ticket covers both, so you can ride one up and the other down and take the free bus back to the start.
You cannot drive to the base station. Park at the Schnee day centre at Naeba, buy tickets there between 8:45 and 15:00, and take the free shuttle bus to the gondola. On busy days the operator suggests starting from the Tashiro side instead.
Up top you can walk about 20 minutes to the Rakuraku Lift or 25 minutes to the Tashiro Ropeway's top station. At ¥4,000 for adults it is a dear ride, and the parking fee comes on top.
Worth knowing
- Ticket desks at Schnee and at the Tashiro Ropeway base open at 8:45.
- The Tashiro Ropeway stops after 3 November 2026, so a loop between the two needs an earlier date.
- Tickets bought online still have to be exchanged at the Schnee or Tashiro ticket desks; the base station sells nothing.
