Suimeikan
¥22,000 a night
Suimeikan stands on the Hida River in the middle of Gero, and each of its three wings has its own large bath, all open to every guest. The observation bath opens 24 hours, and two private baths run on 100 percent source water. Day visitors can use the open-air bath or the observation bath for ¥1,500 each, unless it is busy.
The inn refuses anyone with a tattoo at every bath, whether Japanese or Western style, and stickers and body paint make no difference.
