Know before you bathe
Wash at the taps before you get in, tie up long hair and keep towels out of the water. The baths ban swimsuits and towels worn in the water, phones in the changing rooms and photos anywhere inside. Bring no food or drink in, and rinse your stool and basin before you leave.
Getting there
In the middle of the Dogo shopping arcade, next to Asuka-no-Yu.
Matsuyama calls Tsubaki-no-Yu its locals' bath. It was built in 1953 when the national sports festival came to Shikoku, rebuilt in 1984 and reopened after a renewal on 26 December 2017. The L-shaped building looks like an old storehouse from the arcade, and inside the tubs are granite.
The washing area has no soap or shampoo, and lockers and dryers cost ¥10 each. Keep to the one-hour limit.
