ツール・ド・美ヶ原高原自転車レース大会36°15′ N 137°59′ ERaceJun 28, 2026
The Tour de Utsukushigahara is a 21.6 km uphill time trial from Matsumoto to the Utsukushigahara plateau with 1,270 m of climbing, and suits riders based in Matsumoto who want a June hill climb. It has an e-bike class, and entry in 2026 cost ¥10,000.
The course leaves the stadium car park near Asama Onsen and climbs past Lake Misuzu and over Takeishi Pass to the plateau car park. The first 4 km gain about 400 metres, so pace the opening ramps. Riders can enter one of 15 classes, among them recumbent and e-bike classes alongside the age groups.
On race morning in 2026 the organisers reported bears seen near the course and ran noise and safety checks before the start. The race pairs with the Norikura Hill Climb in August, and riders who finish both are scored in the Matsumoto Hill Climb series.
Worth knowing
- Hand your warm layers in at the Saturday luggage drop, since bags travel to the finish and riders descend later.
