Sado Long Ride 210 is a mass ride round Sado Island held in mid-May, with courses from 100 km up to a 210 km lap, and it suits fit riders who want a closed-loop island day with aid stations stocked by local volunteers; the island's many unlit tunnels make a bright rear light essential.

Sado City, the city sports association, Sado Kisen and an organising committee run the event, and the 2026 edition went out from Kawarada Elementary School on Sunday 17 May. The A course laps the island for 210 km and costs ¥12,000. The B course cuts across the island's farmland for 130 km, and the C course runs 100 km and finishes at Ryotsu port.
Volunteers at eight aid stations hand out local specialities. The rules ban aero bars and tandems and ask for a helmet, a bell, a rear light or reflector and a front light that stays on in tunnels. In 2026 the organisers urged every rider to fit a bright LED rear light because the tunnels are very dark.
In 2026 a 110 km Kosado tour and a 40 km ride past the Sado gold mine went out on the Saturday, and a 33 km gravel ride through crested ibis country closed things on the Monday.
Worth knowing
- Get your bike checked at a shop beforehand; the 2026 entry needed a bike inspection certificate at registration.
- Book the ferry and a bed early, since most riders cross to the island on the same days.
