Osanai is a plain set-meal diner on Shinmachi, a two-minute walk from Aomori Station, and Tabelog named it one of its 100 best shokudo in 2024. Scallops are the reason to come. The scallop fry set cost ¥1,900 in August 2026, and it arrives with the shells on the plate. Kaiyaki miso is Aomori's home dish of scallops cooked with egg and miso, and here it comes as a set for ¥1,800.
Queues form before both sittings. One reviewer counted about 25 people outside before the 16:30 evening opening in August 2026 and waited half an hour, and a Sunday lunch line that month cleared in about ten minutes.
