Sugatani Onsen
Sugatani sits in a valley at the foot of Mt. Odani, inland from the Kohoku shore, and the Azai clan is said to have bathed here. The iron-rich water runs straight from the source into the baths. The inn has 31 Japanese rooms, four of them barrier-free, and it runs a free shuttle from JR Kawake if you ask the day before. From 16 October to 22 November 2026 it lights a bonfire in the grounds in the evenings.
