Getting there
Kaike Onsen lies on the beach north of central Yonago. Cog Station Kaike at the city's tourist centre rents bikes.
Kaike Onsen lines the Sea of Japan at Yonago, and its inns build outdoor baths that look out over the water. The water is salty and hot, and the ryokan union says it is good for the skin. In summer the beach doubles as a swimming beach with lifeguards.
Kaike calls itself the birthplace of the Japanese triathlon, first held here in 1981 and run each July since. The flat Yumigahama cycling course starts from the same shore.
