Seven towns and villages of the Hata area run this non-competitive long ride from the sports park in Sukumo. Day one loops out to the Ashizuri coast and back to Sukumo on a 108 or 135 km course, climbing forest roads before the Pacific shoreline. Day two takes 152.5 km out to Shimanto and Kuroshio along the Shimanto River and back.
Riding both days makes the Doppuri course of 260.5 or 287.5 km. Roads stay open to traffic, so riders stop at red lights, and anyone outside the time limit leaves the course. About 450 places were offered in 2026, for riders of high-school age and older who can finish the Shimanto course.
