The CSC Criterium Series races on a short special loop of 840 metres inside the Japan Cycle Sports Center's 5 km circuit near Shuzenji, and suits visiting riders who want a low-key spring race on closed roads in Izu; the two longer classes need a JCF licence or a temporary registration, while the 8.4 km class 3 takes anyone.
The centre runs the series itself, with classes for licensed adults down to toddlers on balance bikes, each capped at 30 riders. Class 1 races 25 laps for 21 km and class 2 races 15 laps for 12.6 km, both for JCF-registered riders. Class 3 covers 10 laps and 8.4 km with no licence rule. Riders of junior age and older can take out a temporary registration for classes 1 and 2 for ¥1,000, and under-15s for ¥500.
Adults pay ¥3,000, and the centre emails a pass to show at the gate. Pay the entry fee at the desk inside the circuit on the day. Day entries pay the park admission at the gate on top of the fee and a ¥500 surcharge.
Worth knowing
- Round 3 on 7 March 2027 makes a good early-season target, and the entry window from 13 to 27 February is short.
