輪島朝市37°23′ N 136°54′ EMarket

Road closure
Roads on the Noto peninsula still carry closures and detours after the 2024 earthquake
Ishikawa Prefecture's live road map on 11 October 2026 showed 150 restrictions in the Noto towns, 35 of them full closures and about 100 one-lane sections. Route 249 has been closed in Suzu between Utsuyama and Umagase since January 2024, the Noto Satoyama Kaido runs one lane between Nanao and Nakajima until 25 December 2026, and the Hakui to Ganmon cycle path is closed at Shika. Check the prefecture's map before you plan a ride, and travel with care for towns that are still rebuilding.

What to order
- Himono (dried fish) made by members
- Seasonal vegetables from local growers
The cooperative counts its market among Japan's three great morning markets and wants, in its own words, to pass on "a market with 1,200 years of history" to the next generation. Members who could not travel to markets elsewhere asked for a place to sell at home, and the Wai Plaza store lent them space free of charge.
From August 2026 the cooperative runs a Challenge Shop scheme at the Wai Plaza site, so new sellers and returning traders can try a stall. It has asked the city and prefecture for a market square near the old Asaichi street, and the cooperative says both are considering it.
Worth knowing
- Come early on a day other than Wednesday; the market closes at 13:00 and some stalls sooner.
