Tenmusu began in the 1950s as a staff lunch at Senju, a tempura restaurant in Tsu, Mie, when the owner tucked cut prawn tempura into a rice ball. In 1980 a Nagoya watchmaker's wife spent a month persuading the founders to teach her, and she opened this Senju in Osu in 1981. Nagoya's tourism site says it uses small local prawns and Koshihikari rice from Hokuriku. Takeaway boxes sell from 8:30, and the eat-in counter opens 12:00 to 14:00. It's three minutes from Kamimaezu subway station.
