Tamamura Honten has brewed Engi sake in Yamanouchi since 1805, and it started brewing Shiga Kogen Beer in 2004. The brewery's gallery and shop sit a minute's walk from the Kutsuno bus stop and sell Engi, New Engi, Shiga Kogen Beer and Yamabushi, with paid tastings at the counter. It opens Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:30. The brewery asks tour coaches to stay away because it has no facilities for large groups.
